Spiritual refection involves contemplation and meditation

Meditate and contemplate the following scripture using the questions below as an
outline.

                                         "MY STRUGGLE WITH DARKNESS"
Day one
Romans 7: 15-24

" I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but do the very
thing I hate"

" I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the
evil I do not want is what I do."

Is there an area of sinfulness or compulsive tendency that seems to have a hold
on me, or that I have a difficult time surrendering to God?

Can I surrender that area now? Can I ask God once more to redeem that darkness
within me?
SPIRITUAL REFECTION
Take 30 minutes to reflect and meditate on the scriptures listed below. Place yourself in the scripture, feel
and sense the situation, Use contemplation, it involves imaginatively entering the incident  being
considering. Be present at the event, seeing it happen as if you were actually a participant yourself. Just as
movies and television draw you into an event, you become imaginatively involved in the story. Share your
feelings and thoughts with other addicts and friends, ask them to share their feelings and thoughts as well.
Remember, part of our recovery is to remain spiritually centered, focusing on scripture is an important of
understanding the journey with God.
